Fortnite Battle Royale
If you're looking to get all the rewards the Battle Pass has to offer in Fortnite: Battle Royale, it's time to get serious about completing some challenges. Fortnite's Season 3 has all sorts of loot on offer, from harvesting tools to skins, but it takes quite a bit of work to get it all if you want to get your money's worth before Season 3 ends and Season 4 begins. Season 3 ends on April 30, 2018, and we have to assume that Season 4 will begin immediately after that -- though it is possible, if unlikely, that Epic will wait until a weekly reset on Thursday.
To back up a little bit, the Battle Pass is one of Fortnite: Battle Royale's central monetization strategies. It lets you buy some of the most sought-after cosmetic items in the game for only $10, but there's a catch: only a scant number are unlocked when you buy the thing, and you have to earn the rest through completing challenges and regular play. You can also pay to unlock some of the 100 tiers in the Battle Pass, but it will cost you a whole lot to just unlock everything right off the bat. Epic estimates that it will take around 75-100 hours of play to unlock everything without paying extra, so there's still time for the committed player to get cracking.
Season 3 has been loosely based on space: we've gotten several skins on an astronaut theme, as well as a few others thrown in for good measure: the ultimate goal is a dapper fellow in a black suit that happens to look a whole lot like Keanu Reeves in John Wick. Season 3 also introduced weekly challenges into the game, which have given players both another avenue towards unlocking new tiers and a different way to play the game every once in a while: particularly popular have been the weekly non-combat treasure hunts.
I do wonder what Epic has in store for the next season: everything about the game has only gotten more dramatic as time has gone on, and now that Epic has a huge portion of its staff working on this single game it has a considerable amount of muscle available for projects like this. For a while now, there's been a comet in the sky above the game, and people have been theorizing that it's going to crash into Tilted Towers around the start of Season 4. I'm one of the people that believes something like this will happen, but I also wonder if things will be limited to Tilted Towers. Maybe the comet rewrites the entire map into something with an aesthetic that matches the theme of the season? It wouldn't be impossible.
