Fortnite Season 4 kicks off with Battle Royale comet crash
As it was expected a comet crash in the season 4 it really happened...
Season 4 brings a super-sized impact to Fortnite’s map
Fortnite Season 4 is now live, with updates to both Save the World and Fortnite Battle Royale. As Battle Royaleplayers have anticipated, the new content drop is based on the aftermath of a hugely teased event: a comet crash, which landed in the middle of the game’s map to create drastic changes all over.
The trailer above provides the setup for where players start off in FortniteBattle Royale Season 4. A comet crashes into and destroys Dusty Depot — now called Dusty Divot as a result — instead of the expected Tilted Towers. (There’s now a bunch of makeshift construction surrounding the remnants of the comet in the center of the crater; while that all is destructible, the comet itself is sadly unbreakable.) Battle Royale’s gigantic island also suffers other impacts: Craters now appear in a variety of locations; this was one big meteor.

And as for superheroes, which Epic Games also hinted at ahead of Season 4’s launch? They factor into Save the World’s latest quest line, called “Blockbuster! Part 1.” The five quests that comprise that story have players go check out the comet after Ray goes missing, all while trying to get a team of superheroes together.
